Summary

We collect only what we need to run the marketplace: your name, email, postcode (for distance — never your exact address publicly), profile, listings, bookings, messages, and payment/identity references held by our processors. We are the data controller.

What we collect & why

Account — name, email, password (hashed), phone (optional): to run your account.
Location — postcode → approximate lat/long: to show distance to neighbours. Exact address is never shown publicly.
Transactions — listings, bookings, reviews, messages: to operate rentals and trust.
Payments & ID — handled by Stripe (Connect & Identity). We store references, not card or document data.

Legal bases

Contract (to provide the service), legitimate interests (safety, fraud prevention, improving the product), and consent (optional marketing).

Sharing

With the other party to a rental (limited profile, first name, distance), and with processors (Stripe, hosting, email, geocoding via postcodes.io). We don't sell your data.

Your rights

Access, correction, deletion, portability, objection, and to withdraw consent. Email [email protected]. You may complain to the ICO.

Retention

We keep data while your account is active and as needed for legal/financial records, then delete or anonymise it.
